T-shirt BASQBasquiat @ Guggenheim Bilbao… I had the pleasure to see ONE exhibition of this unusual artist five years ago, in Paris, of course! Strong messages, defined colors and uncompromising response to the challenges of his time brought my attention many years ago. Basquiat’s paintings may cause different feelings, they may bring different thoughts, they may raise numerous questions, but they will never leave you indifferent. His world and his decades of active work left no place for harmony, idyllic sceneries and lovely portraits. Deeply influenced by street art and graffiti, Basquiat introduced total freedom of thoughts, techniques, forms, ideas and (re)definitions.
